Project

My daughter shared with me a project she made in school. She wanted to know if I loved it. It was all about her impression of me. She was so thrilled to share it with me. It was good to see her impression of me and how well she knew me.

It was good to see her view of me. I want her to have a positive view of me. At times I am tough on what I expect and I try to have fun with them. I want to be the best parent and not a friend. That does not mean that I have to be strict and stoic. She thinks I am a funny mom. I try to be light hearted. When there is something funny going on, I laugh. When there is a difficult situation I try not to take it too seriously.

We have fun and laugh when we can. Why be mean and angry. I don’t want my children to remember me for that. I try hard to balance some discipline with forgiveness. That means not holding on to what upset me. Letting them take care of their mistakes and dealing with their outcomes. I don’t have to get mad. I like to find the humor in every situation. I was thrilled by her project and even made fun of myself. I thanked her for her project and encouraged her to keep up with her projects. 1
