Getting Going

Every parent knows that getting your children ready can be difficult. I mean getting them ready for the day. I like to have them get their outfits out the night before. However, they may not have everything ready to go. It alleviates some stress.

When they don’t want to go somewhere they will drag their feet. Getting socks on and finding shoes is an adventure. How do we get them to do what we ask without a fight? We can plan ahead, plead, and get ready way in advance. Also making a game out of it, where they win something can help. There has to a combination.

Also, if they know they will get to do something they pick, they will be more likely to cooperate. This also takes advanced planning. This may take the sting out of getting going most days. The best tip ever, is to not get upset about it. Nothing is solved by losing your cool. What lesson do you teach your kids, if you lose your cool when you don’t get your way?
