I find simple pleasures in my family. I suggest most parents try to find the enjoyable moments you are with your kids. I like it when my kids roller skate in the living room. They are getting their exercise and I can clean the hardwood floor later. Also they are keeping themselves busy. They are finding joy in what they are doing.
They also look forward to story time, movie time, and bedtime. These are the times when they can get close to me. We are enjoying each others company. We are creating memories that will last a lifetime. I love to capture the best moments. Here comes my little roller skater.
Why do like to roller skate in the house? They are playing something upstairs and needed to grab something downstairs. Her face is determined. She is really enjoying her task. I am enjoying watching her glide in front of me. I hear them playing together peacefully. They are laughing and making plans. There are no expensive games taking place. We did not go out anywhere expensive. They are teaching each other. My older daughter just taught the other one how to spell her name. Being a parent is hard work. However, it does not have to be drudgery. Taking the time to find pleasure in the small tasks is a beautiful way to parent.
