Cut it Out

My daughter really wanted to get her hair cut. She know exactly what she wanted. She reminded me that she wanted her hair cut. She was relentless. She told me several times that I said that I would take her. She also reminded me of a few other things that I said that I would do.

It was important for me to keep my word to her. She also wants to go to the store to get a special calendar to herald in Christmas. When I told her that she I would, that was it. She kept up until I gave in. She is persistent. I do want to reward her persistence.

There are times when I wish she was not so persistent. However, she will need to be persistent in life. We have to be consistent. It is the key to success. If I did not keep my promises consistently, they would begin to believe that I was not reliable. If I am not reliable, then they would know that it would be okay for them to be unreliable.

I want them to get the idea that I can be relied upon and they should be relied upon. It is time to cut out bad behavior. When it came time to follow through, it was super important to me to do what I said I was going to do.

She is totally happy and thrilled that I kept my word and she loves her cut. When we know what we want and are persistent in pursuing it we can achieve our goals.
