Truth

Sooner or later, the truth comes out. When someone is trying to deceive you, you will know it. It is the best policy to tell the truth. Others can detect lies. It is painful to deceive yourself. It is best to tell the truth, even if it is embarrassing.

Even little kids can detect an untruth. Being lied to is no fun. I used to think it was okay to keep the truth from some. There are consequences, when with holding the truth. The cost can be relationships. The overwhelming feeling of guilt, eats away at you. Even if we deceive ourselves, it can still be painful.

Kids are resilient. However, they develop a sense when someone keeps lying to them. Avoiding telling the truth, to resist creating a conflict, is the cowards way out. The easy route. The best route is to tell the truth. One of the most painful acts of deceit is when someone pretends to care for you and they don’t. There is a way around that. Not giving a care about what others think of you is key. If you are honest with yourself and don’t need the validations of others, it is freeing telling the truth.
