Counting Down

My daughter asked me how many days until our trip? I said a week. “How many days is that?,” she said. “Seven days,” I said. “How many is that?,” was her response. I asked her if she would help me plan the trip?  She was not paying attention and asked about something else. She got a bewildered look on her face.

She wanted to do something else. She asked if I could help her. I told her that I had to write and then she could use the computer. She said, “Make it a short story.” I agreed. It is late for me right now. I usually have this written earlier in the day.

I did accomplish a lot today. I did take a nap. Then I was alarmed by everything I still had to do, before our trip. I then decided to make a list of everything and then enjoy the journey. If everything does not work out the way, I planned, that is just is what it is. I can count the days down or I can enjoy every moment leading up to the trip.
