I take comfort in the small things today. There is freezing rain. I got to come home early. I took a train home. My kids got off the bus. I was able to usher them in safely. I get to work from home tomorrow. Meal plans are in place. Eating comfort foods to pass the time.
The kids do enjoy them too. Hot cocoa is being made. We are warming up from the inside out. It does not have to be miserable because it is cold outside. I appreciate having heat and a roof over our heads.
I am also grateful that I don’t have to be out in this weather. I don’t have to drive around a lot in this cold weather. I can work from home. I am having plenty of warm liquids to give me comfort. I plan on making cookies too. I want to assault my senses with comfort today. I want to have pleasant smells, warm fuzzy socks, a good book, and some hot cocoa too. I will survive the cold.
