Waiting

We are waiting to go to breakfast. The kids got dressed. The other child is still waking up. I planned on going to breakfast today. I made sure they knew last night. Did it go as planned? I am waiting for them to come back into the house. They are preoccupied with something else. The child that is still waking up will take some time to get going. It is just his nature. My husband started a load of laundry. They came back inside. Now the fun begins. They need to get their shoes on. She has her shoes but is still in the clothes she had on last night. She has to change her outfit. My husband is watching TV.

I am waiting patiently. If I become impatient, what lesson am I teaching them. They both have dirty clothes on. There is an argument ensuing. They don’t want to change their clothes. What lesson would I teach them if I let them do whatever they wanted and not care about how they seem. Not that appearances are everything. I want them to wear clean clothes and brush their hair. Someone locked the door. These things take time. I am still waiting patiently.
