Reminders

It is closer to that time of year again. I am reminding my children about presents and how this house will be skipped. I am leveraging the Chris Kringle. I know the season is not about just that. I could not help it. It works some of the time. I remind them that they are supposed to be on their best behavior all the time, despite getting any rewards.

Yes, they get praise and recognition from Mom and Dad, when they do something right. If they don’t do what they are supposed to do, they get points taken away. They get no reward. They get no prize. It is a challenge to motivate them. If one of them is not as motivated as the other, then they don’t want to do what is asked. Every little incentive helps. I know there will be a time when they have to motivate themselves. There are other ways to get them motivated. Taking away their privileges also motivates them to do what is asked. I don’t like to do that. Reminding them of what is expected and following through on our requests is golden.
