Exit strategy

My cat loves to be outside. She does not know that she is supposed to be an indoor cat. She sneaks out when the overhead Garage door is open. I may pull out of the garage and see her in the neighbors yard, especially with the warmer weather.

No told her that she is supposed to stay inside. No one told her that she can’t go outside from time to time. No one told her that she has to stay in the house. She knows she wants to be outside. She enjoys being outside. She is a wild creature after all.

Who says she should be cooped up in the house? Are there rules or beliefs holding you back? Are there things that you were taught early on that are now preventing you from moving forward? Are you waiting for someone to give you permission to go outside? To get outside of what you know? Are you waiting for someone to define who you are? I try to let my kids be who they are. You want them to be safe and at the same time to be free. You want them to have an exit strategy, so they can find their own path home.
