Gifts

I woke up this morning, and I was grateful I was able to open my eyes. I was grateful I was able to breathe. I was grateful I was able to walk. I could hear my kids waking. They wanted to rush downstairs to see if Santa Clause visited us. They loved that there were gifts under the tree.

In this season, it does not matter what gifts you give. Some may not be able to give any monetary gifts. My children are still young. They may not appreciate all that they have right now.

I am glad that I have a family to spend time with. I am glad that I have a place to live. There have been moments in my life where I was glad that someone reached out to me many times in my life to just say hi or to tell me that they appreciated me.

The simplest gifts come from the heart and they don’t require much. A smile, your attention, your time, your kind words, and a warm hug don’t cost a lot.
