I want candy

Our family decided to go to the movies. My daughter had been to the dentist. She has several cavities and a will of iron. She wanted to get candy. Our normal treat is slushies. She threw a tantrum. We did not give in.

However, it is a few days until Halloween. We have purchased candy. There are other treats, such as pretzels.

I began to wonder about why we desire the things that are not the best for us. Why is it so hard to break the cravings for sugar?

My husband is drinking a small coke. How can we tell our daughter how bad it is, when we still have our candy and pop?

Parenting is tough, but in the end it is all about choices. What we think won’t harm us may. Doing great things is tough.
