The problem with education

Who knows who the Vice-President of the United States is? Silly question, right? College kids were recently polled. In a recent youtube video, the students did not know this. When asked if they knew when the Declaration of Independence was signed, they could not tell the interviewer the answer. However, they could tell you that Bradd Pitt was once married to Jennifer Aniston and is now married to Angelina Jolie. Doesn’t that scare you? It is official, Americans have been dumbed down. They are not being taught to have real life social connections. Their heads are down looking at a screen. Some teens and young adults send 100 texts over the course of day rather than speaking to their friends on the phone. The minds of the future are not equipped to see that the status quot has them headed down a path of total apathy. Why is this dangerous? How did this happen? What can you do to correct it? Children are the future. They need to be taught Leadership principles from early on. Learning civics is only one component of a Leadership education. Entrepreneurial skills are also not taught. Financial management is not taught or shared with young children. There is a problem with our current education system. Ghandi recognized it. “Real education consists in drawing the best out of yourself. What better book can there be than the book of humanity? ” On National Education So many strange things have been said about my views on national education, that it would perhaps not be out of place to formulate them before the public. In my opinion the existing system of education is defective, apart from its association with an utterly unjust Government, in three most important matters: (1) It is based upon foreign culture to the almost entire exclusion of indigenous culture. (2) It ignores the culture of the heart and the hand, and confines itself simply to the head.(3) Real education is impossible through a foreign medium.

How can a child learn to think critically, if they are not informed? If children do not these skills and other, they will become oppressed by their own ignorance of the laws – and inability to think for themselves. We are all constantly being barraged with information. Is it the right information? Television, books, and the people we associate influence how we think. This information is stored in our subconscious minds and shape how we behave. How many people know the theme to Beverly Hills 90210? You are continuously taking in the wrong information. You may have been misinformed. You may think that it is okay to be in debt. You may have been lulled into thinking that this is “normal.” Advertisers constantly program your subconscious – also know as the elephant. Your conscious mind is known as the ant. Messages left in your subconscious are powerful and form the choices we make. Society is headed for a rude awakening. “As a Man Thinketh” “Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master. ” What can you do? You are your child’s first teacher. For those who do not have children, you do have influence over the children in your life. Take control of your life as the authority figure. You are the best example of Leadership in their life. You can learn success principles by being coached. You can listen to the right audios, associate with like minded individuals, and read the right books. You have to ask yourself, “How will this serve my personal ideals, serve the highest good beyond my own personal needs, and what adjustments do I need to make?” It is important to focus on having a good attitude, teach kids to be resilient, save money, teach them to be optimistic, to create enthusiasm for reading, love them unconditionally, and have healthy relationships. What can you do for your children in your life? Enroll them in an enrichment program. Homeschooling may not be an option for you. In an enrichment program the children can pick and choose the areas that interest them-as in a Montessori program. Exposure to physical exercise, art, music, foreign languages, books, entrepreneurial thinking, people skills, and financial management will greatly improve their lives. There are very few of programs that encompass the key areas that thought leader Jim Rohn recommends to be successful in life. Children with developmental and emotional issues will get assistance in animal therapy including equine therapy. People need the following skills: To learn how to get along with others, To learn how to build relationships, to serve others, to take responsibility for their own lives, emotional intelligence, and to learn many languages. This is an affordable, flexible, duplicate-able, option for busy parents and educators. Also from “As A Man Thinketh:” Thought in the mind hath made us. What we are By thought we wrought and built. If a man’s mind Hath evil thoughts, pain comes on him as comes The wheel the ox behind . . . If one endure in purity of thought joy follows him as his own shadow – sure. “A strong man cannot help a weaker unless the weaker is willing to be helped, and even then the weak man must become strong of himself. He must, by his own efforts, develop the strength which he admires in another. None but himself can alter his condition. ” Who does not want their children or those under their care to prosper? “How many people we know who sour their lives, who ruin all that is sweet and beautiful by explosive tempers, who destroy their poise of character, and make bad blood! It is a question whether the great majority of people do not ruin their lives and mar their happiness by lack of self-control. How few people we meet in life who are well-balanced, who have that exquisite poise which is characteristic of the finished character!” – James Allen. What you think about will ultimately become reality. “Your Life Follows your Thoughts.” – Joel Olsteen “The Subconscious mind consists of a field of consciousness in which every impulse of thought that reaches the objective mind through any of the five senses is classified and recorded , and from which thoughts may be recalled or withdrawn as letters may be taken from a filing cabinet.” -Think and Grow Rich

To break down what successful people do: They define what they want They Invest in themselves They take risks They push past their comfort zone If you learn how to do the above and can show your children by example, they will be well on their way to being empowered to live a life of Freedom. What would that look like? Only they can define what they want out of life. Would you rather have your children take responsibility for their own education and follow your positive example or be programmed by what some producer thinks would be good to teach your children?
