My daughters finished a special project through the library. They wanted to get a big prize from Mom, today. However, they did get a reward from the library. They got three small prizes and a brand new book to keep. My oldest daughter was upset prior to finding out what she would get. She did not want something small for all of her effort.
She was pleasantly surprised when she got three prizes and a book. In life if we just stay the course and push to the finish line, when we lose our motivation. If we only have a shorted distance to go, we may be pleasantly surprised by all of the benefits we reap.
I rewarded my kids for all of their hard work. We will get other prizes if they can maintain some of the good behavior that they exhibited for the short run. I want them to continue to want to be prize winners. I want them to know that the prize may be something intangible. I also want to teach them that it is important to go the distance and continue good behaviors to get even better results.
