As much as I love my kids. I realize there have be times when they play with their friends and enjoy the company of others. I don’t have to watch them like hawks and hover over them. There was a time when I thought that was appropriate. Allowing them some freedom is a great decision.
I think it allows them time to have social interaction with others and not stuck on tablets. Some of their friends parents don’t let them sit at home and watch TV. They have them do activities and play games. This is so beneficial to them. I don’t like it when they have too much screen time. I have made it my mission to make sure they get less and less screen time.
I want to provide them more opportunities for play time. They are young and have so much energy. They can burn off the excess energy by playing with friends. They can do something constructive. They actually like the science, technology, engineering, and math classes that they can take after school. They learn something new. They are not around their regular class mates and they are stimulated to learn something new. This play time is serious business with massive benefits. It is not my job to keep them entertained. If I can give them these opportunities for play and growth, I am happy.
