I will gladly help

Our lives are no meant to be wasted. My Grandmother is celebrating her 95th birthday. She is beautiful on the inside and the outside. She still finds a way to help everyone. She is in a wheelchair. She prays for everyone. She is an inspiration to me.

My kids don’t know what it means to be a servant, yet. They do get spoiled by me. I love them with all my heart. I my have been doing them a dis-service. They need to learn to do things for themselves. The practical things. How to resolve a conflict, how to get along, how to communicate, how to negotiate, how to serve, how to think, how to create, how to manage their finances, how to have great relationships, and how to apply what they learn.

You can’t force or teach these skills. You have to allow them to be discovered through experimentation. Every child is different. There is no one size fits all. I don’t think the answer is to to have them in an activity and expect that they will somehow learn and absorb what is needed. I will gladly help them along. I will no be able to do it for them.
